About us

Introduction

The Directorate for Conformity Assessment at BME InnoLab Inc. combines decades of expertise in conformity assessment with the comprehensive engineering, scientific, and laboratory resources of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).

Conformity assessment activities are carried out within the framework of BME InnoLab Inc., a business organization owned by BME.

This operational model brings together:

  • the professional credibility and reliability stemming from our academic foundation;
  • state-of-the-art university engineering and laboratory infrastructure;
  • the flexibility and customer focus of market-driven operations;
  • streamlined, more transparent decision-making processes;
  • faster technical feedback and shorter lead times.

All of this is particularly critical in the construction industry, where time-to-market, project scheduling, and rapid technical support serve as key competitive advantages.

Our authorizations

To perform their duties, conformity assessment bodies must obtain official authorization, designated status under relevant national legislation, or notified status under European Union legislation.

Accreditation serves to demonstrate both the technical competence and procedural compliance of the organization.

Accreditation – an objective professional guarantee

We regard accreditation as one of the most vital, independent proofs of technical competence and reliable operations.

We strongly believe that accreditation is more than a mere regulatory or administrative requirement: it is an objective, independent confirmation of an organization’s competence, professional readiness, and operational reliability.

This provides a solid guarantee for our clients, regulatory authorities, and market participants alike.

In fields where accreditation is not applicable or attainable, we guarantee the same high professional standards through strictly regulated, controlled, and documented processes while fully adhering to all relevant requirements.

On July 30, 2026, we achieved accreditation as a product certification body for designation purposes under reference number NAH-6-0076/2026/K, in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013.

Notified Body – NB 3233

Building upon our accredited status, we have been operating as an EU Notified Conformity Assessment Body under number NB 3233 since September 1, 2026.

Notified technical assessment body – TAB 3229

Based on the successful audit by the designating authority, we have been operating as an EU notified technical assessment body since September 22, 2026.
